LYRICS - LISTEN TO MY HEART (As recorded by Bill McKinley) Here we are You and I at last In the right place At the right time Every dream I’ve dreamed Has come to pass Cause you're right here And you’re all mine I can't believe the years Of holding back are through And iIcan finally share What's in my heart, with you Listen Listen Listen to my heart Listen to it sing Listen to my voice It wants to tell you everything There's so much to say I don't know where to start But if you want to know The love i'm feeling Listen to my heart All my life I've been on a road Going one way Towards one dream The road would wind And down it I would go Always searching Never finding But even in my darkest hour I always knew That someway, somehow The road would lead to you And words can't express How my heart's filled with happiness Listen to it Listen to my heart Listen to it sing Listen to my voice It wants to tell you everything Listen to my song Listen to it soar I've waited all my life For this one moment I'm not waiting anymore Listen to my heart As it cries for all the years That it was lonely Listen to my heart As it smiles to know That now after so long I can finally sing my song And you're here And you're listening You're listening Listen to my voice And it will tell you everything All about the life That's just about to start And if you want to know How much I love you Listen to my heart Listen to my heart Listen to my heart

Lion Tamer 03:07
LYRICS - LION TAMER (As recorded by Bill McKinley) I'd like to be a lion tamer, Sequins and tights and silk top hats. I know I could be a lion tamer, I've always gotten along with cats. I'd have a whip but never use it, I'd simply hold it in my hand. I'd like to be a lion tamer. If I could be a lion tamer I could be someone grand. I couldn't be a ballerina, I never could stand on my toes. I couldn't be a Spanish dancer, I'd look ridiculous with a rose. Everyone has a special calling, Something that only he can do. I could be such a lion tamer. If I could be lion tamer I would be special too. I could begin with baby leopards, Move on to tiger cubs and then, After I learned to handle lions, Maybe I could work up to men. I never wanted fancy mansions, Butlers and footmen liveried. I never wanted lots of money, Money can't buy what you really need. I never asked for any favors, But here I am on knobby knee. Please let me be a lion tamer. If I could be a lion tamer, Wouldn't he have to finally notice me?

LYRICS - HIT ME WITH A HOT NOTE (As recorded by Bill McKinley) Hit me with a hot note and watch me bounce Hit me with a hot note and watch me bounce When trumpets heat up Gimme a rug to beat up Hit me with a hot note and watch me bounce Hit me with a hot note and watch me burn Slap me down the rhythm from stem to stern When saxes flare up How can I keep my hair up Hit me with a hot note and watch me burn Start that tombone slidin While I gather steam Keep that tempo ridin And I'll come in right on the beam Hit me with a hot note and watch me bounce Knock me out with music in great amounts Let that beat wave We're gonna have a heat wave Hit me with a hot note and watch me bounce Start that tombone slidin While I gather steam Keep that tempo ridin And I'll come in right on the beam Hit me with a hot note and watch me bounce Knock me out with music in great amounts Let that beat wave We're gonna have a heat wave Hit me with a hot note Hit me with a hot note Hit me with a hot note and watch me bounce.

LYRICS - AND SO IT GOES (As recorded by Bill McKinley) In every heart there is a room A sanctuary safe and strong To heal the wounds from lovers past Until a new one comes along I spoke to you in cautious tones You answered me with no pretense And still I feel I said too much My silence is my self defense And every time I've held a rose It seems I only felt the thorns And so it goes, and so it goes And so will you soon I suppose But if my silence made you leave Then that would be my worst mistake So I will share this room with you And you can have this heart to break And this is why my eyes are closed It's just as well for all I've seen And so it goes, and so it goes And you're the only one who knows So I would choose to be with you That's if the choice were mine to make But you can make decisions too And you can have this heart to break And so it goes, and so it goes And you're the only one who knows

LYRICS - CHILDREN WILL LISTEN / EVERYTHING POSSIBLE (As recorded by Bill McKinley) Careful the things you say Children will listen Careful the things you do Children will see and learn Children may not obey But children will listen Children will look to you For which way to turn To learn what to be Careful before you say "Listen to me" Children will listen Careful the wish you make Wishes are children Careful the path they take Wishes come true Not free Careful the spell you cast Not just on children Sometimes the spell may last Past what you can see And turn against you Careful the tale you tell That is the spell Children will listen We have cleared off the table The leftovers saved Washed the dishes And put them away I have told you a story And tucked you in tight At the end of your knockabout day As the moon sets its sail To carry you to sleep Over the midnight sea Well I will sing you a song no one sang to me May it keep you good company You can be anybody that you want to be You can love whomever you will You can travel any country where your heart leads And know I will love you still You can live by yourself You can gather friends around You can choose one special one And the only measure of your words and your deeds Will be the love you leave behind when you're gone. Some girls grow up strong and bold Some boys are quiet and kind Some race on ahead, some follow behind Some grow in their own space and time Some women love women And some men love men Some raise children and some never do You can dream all the day Never reaching the end Of everything possible for you Don't be rattled by names by taunts or games But seek out spirits true If you give your friends the best part of yourself They will give the same back to you You can be anybody that you want to be You can love whomever you will You can travel any country where your heart leads And know I will love you still You can live by yourself You can gather friends around You can choose one special one And the only measure of your words and your deeds Will be the love you leave behind when you're gone Oh the love we leave behind when we’re gone God loves each of us, the children of the world

Disneyland 04:52
LYRICS - DISNEYLAND (As recorded by Bill McKinley) Hot Sunday night I guess the folks were busy fighting Joe’d already left home Eleven years old on my own Feelling nothing but lonely There’s nothing to do there’s nothing out there but the traffic Down on state ninety-three So I’d sit through the night By our old black and white TV And that’s when I saw it That’s when I heard it Calling me Disneyland Magic Kingdom Disneyland Close my eyes real tight Wishing hard I might Wishing hard I may Find my way to Disneyland Gotta get to Disneyland On a western breeze Magic carpet please Please carry me away Cause when the world it too real It makes it better to feel You’ve got another place to go Somewhere there’s magic enough To leave who’s ugly and tough To grab a dream and let it grow Somewhere it’s never too late To leave it all at the gate And just be there We’re free there Come with me there Cause I know We all need some Disneyland Magic Kingdom Disneyland Where the child inside Gets to laugh and gets to ride Until it’s all okay I believe in Disneyland Come with me to Disneyland And when we get to Disneyland Let’s stay Cause when the world it too real It makes it better to feel You’ve got another place to go Somewhere there’s magic enough To leave who’s ugly and tough To grab a dream and let it grow Somewhere it’s never too late To leave it all at the gate And just be there We’re free there Come with me there ‘Cause I know I know We all need some Disneyland Magic Kingdom Disneyland Where the child inside Gets to laugh and gets to ride Until it’s all okay I believe in Disneyland Come with me to Disneyland And when we get to Disneyland Let’s stay Let’s stay Let’s stay

LYRICS - SO MANY PEOPLE (As recorded by Bill McKinley) So many people in the world And what can they do? They'll never know love Like my love for you So many people laugh At what they don't know Well that's their concern If just a few, say Half a million or so Could see us They'd learn So many people in the world Don't know what they've missed They'd never believe Such joy could exist And if they tell us it's a phase we'll outgrow They're jealous as they can be That with so many people in the world You love me I said the man for me Must have a castle A man of means he'd be A man of fame And then I met a man Who hadn't any Without a penny To his name I had to go and fall For so much less than What I had planned from all The magazines I should be good and sore What am I happy for? I guess the man means more Than the means So many people in the world And what can they do? They'll never know love Like my love for you So many people laugh At what they don't know Well that's their concern If just a few, say Half a million or so Could see us They'd learn So many people in the world Don't know what they've missed They'd never believe Such joy could exist And if they tell us it's a phase we'll outgrow They're jealous as they can be That with so many people in the world You love me

LYRICS - THIS LAND IS YOUR LAND (As recorded by Bill McKinley) This land is your land This land is my land From California to the New York island From the redwood forests To the Gulfstream waters This land was made for you and me As I went walking That ribbon of highway
I saw above me That endless skyway I saw below me The golden valley This land was made for you and me One Sunday morning In the shadow of the steeple By the welfare office I saw my people As they stood there hungry I stood there singing This land was made for you and me As I went walking As I went walking I saw a sign there, yes I did And on the sign it said You don’t belong here, no you don’t But on the back side, oh on the back side The sign said nothing That side was made for you and me Nobody living, no nobody living Can ever stop me, no they can’t As I go walking the freedom highway Nobody living, no nobody living Can make me turn back Cause this land was made for you and me This land is your land This land is my land From California to the New York island From the redwood forests To the Gulfstream waters This land was made for you This land was made for you I know this land was made for you and me For you and me For you and me For you and me This land was made for you and me

Danny Boy 04:14
Lyrics - DANNY BOY (As recorded by Bill McKinley) Oh, Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling
From glen to glen, and down the mountain side
The summer's gone and ah the winter’s coming
It's you, It's you must go and I must bide
But come ye back when summer's in the meadow
Or when the valley's hushed and white with snow
Then I'll be there in sunshine or in shadow
Oh, Danny boy, Oh Danny boy, I love you so

But when ye come, and all the flowers are dying
If I am dead, as dead I well may be
Ye'll come and find the place where I am lying
And kneel and say an Avè there for me
And I will hear, though soft you tread above me
And all my grave will warmer, sweeter be
If you will bend and tell me that you love me
Then I shall sleep in peace until you come to me If you will bend and tell me that you love me
Then I shall sleep in peace until you come to me

LYRICS- LOVE DON’T NEED A REASON (As recorded by Bill McKinley) If your heart always did What a normal heart would do If you always play a part Instead of being who you really are Then you might just miss The one who's standing there So instead of passing by Show him that you care Instead of asking why Why me and why you? Why not we two? 'Cause love don't need a reason Love don't always rhyme Love is all we have for now What we don't have is time If you always believe All the madness that we're taught Never questioning the rules Then we're living lies we bought so long ago How are they to know? It's not who's wrong or right It's just another way And I don't wanna fight But know I'm gonna I’m stay with you till the end With you my friend 'Cause love don't need a reason Love’s never a crime Love is all we have for now What we don't have is time I'll hold you close Time can't tear us apart Forever, I will stand by you It’s got to start with the beat of one heart Together, we will see this through 'Cause love don't need a reason Love's don’t always rhyme Love is all we have for now What we don't have What we don't have What we don't have is time

LYRICS - THE ONES WHO AREN’T HERE (As recorded by Bill McKinley) I’m thinking about The ones who aren’t here And won’t be coming in late Home all alone With their families And won’t be coming out tonight I wish I could know All the lovers and friends Kept from gathering I think of you now The ways you could go We’re all of us refugees Telling myself And my family My friends and the folks on the job One by one And it’s never been easy And me and everyone’s changed The hope and the tears When they show you their hearts Some never speak again Every pot off the wheel Can’t bear the kiln, And every love can’t bear the pain. So let’s pass a kiss And a happy sad tear And a hug the whole circle round For the ones who aren’t here For the hate and the fear For laughter The struggle for life And let’s have a song here for me and for you And the love that we cannot hide And let’s have a song For the ones who aren’t here And won’t be coming out tonight.

Hold On 02:43
LYRICS - HOLD ON (As recorded by Bill McKinley) When you see the storm is coming See the lightning part the skies It's too late to run There's terror in your eyes What you do then is remember This old thing you heard me say It's the storm, not you That's bound to blow away Hold on Hold on to someone standing by Hold on Don't even ask how long or why Child, hold on to what you know is true Hold on till you get through Child, oh child Hold on When you feel your heart is poundin' Fear a devil's at your door There's no place to hide You're frozen to the floor What you do then is you force yourself To wake up, and you say "It's this dream, not me That's bound to go away" Hold on Hold on, the night will soon be by Hold on And think of something else to try Child, hold on, there's angels on their way Hold on and hear them say "Child, oh child!" And it doesn't even matter If the danger and the doom Come from up above or down below Or just come flying at you from across the room When you see a man who's raging And he's jealous and he fears That you've walked through walls He's hid behind for years What you do then Is you tell yourself to wait it out And say "It's this day, not me That's bound to go away" Child, hold on It's this day, not you That's bound to go away

about

[The following liner notes are as they appeared in the original release of "Everything Possible" in 1992]

"I first heard Bill McKinley sing "Everything Possible" a little over a year ago. I was immediately captivated by both the beauty of his voice and the depth of his commitment to the lyric. Since then, I've heard him sing on many occasions. I never cease to be delighted by the breadth of his versatility and by his astonishing range. And Bill is not only a gifted singer; he is also a talented actor and a brilliant comedian. And he is a man of great courage. As an openly gay performer in an often hostile world, Bill sings the songs
that too few of us dare to sing.

But Bill's performances are about more than merely political correctness or dazzling vocalism; they are about communication. Gay, straight, black, white, man, woman, child-if you've ever been in love, if you've ever been shamed, if you've ever felt hope, if you've ever needed a friend, Bill's songs will speak directly to you. Just play this album and you'll feel what I mean. Listen to your heart.”
